Yucatan is located in the north portion of the peninsula, the State of Yucatan has 38,402 km2 of surface in Mexico with a population of approximately 1'658,210 inhabitants.

Yucatan limit to the north with the Gulf of Mexico; to the east and southeast with the State of Quintana Roo and to the southwest with the State of Campeche.

In Yucatan narrate that when arrived the Spanish to the peninsula, the natives upon listening them to speak were saying UHUUTHAAN, that means "Hears as speak". Is believed that from there originate the name of Yucatan.

Yucatan, land of the Mayab, constitutes a great attractive for the tourism, not alone by its large natural attractions, its colonial jewels, its prodigious monuments that give testimony of the brilliance of the Mayan culture, but also by its white beaches and fine sand.

Yucatan crafts are very beautiful and has, furthermore, a great folklore, so much dances and songs, as in gown, as well as an outstanding and regal gastronomy.

Yucatan has two types of climate, the warm sub wet, that encompasses 90% of its territory, where the pluvial rainfall and the hosiery temperatures are of 1,150 mm and 26º C. And the warm semi dry, with smaller pluvial rainfall and that corresponds to the band coastal, in the north of the state.
